Bamboo forest

Bamboo forests grow in diverse climates, from cold mountainous regions, to the tropics. Most of bamboo forests grow in Asia, but some can also be found in South America, Australia (although not numerous) and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Bamboo has different shades of colour and those differences depend on such conditions as: climate, soil, wind direction, time of harvesty and its age.
Some kinds of bamboo have flowers (blooming), however it rarely happens – once in 120 years. The plant grows by means of subsurface stalks. The height of bamboo stems reach 40 meters and diameter of 30 centimeters. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. There are 91 genera and over 1000 species of bamboo.
